What does being selfish mean to you personally?

Being good to people but being unable to be good to those whom are the most important to me. Emotional commitment sucks, I don't want to actually believe that, but being strongly attached to people has brought me some really serious issues. I'm fine, I mean, I could be worse, there are some who are actually worse, so... It's gonna be okay, eventually
