We could have a huge discussion about this movie lol. My kid has made me watch it with him about 10x and I actually think the message is terrible! And then I sit there trying to analyze it to a nearly 5 year old. Wtf is with Woody giving up his voice to someone who kidnapped him and planned to take it by force because she convinced him her intentions were noble!? That's some body horror stuff lol.

I'm game. I suppose its more that he willing gave up something he valued because it didn't matter anymore. He wasn't being played with so giving up his voice wasn't a problem since her need was greater than his. Itwas his pride and joy, but did it matter if his life wasn't where it was being used.

The manipulation stuff is slightly questionable but the overall message is more acceptable.
I'm going to ignore the literal body horror stuff since as you say it is rather bizzare but I'm taking it more on face value.

Its the sacrifice of something unneded to make someone else happy which I feel is positive. Even if part of you don't want to let it go.

I liked that Bo Peep was able to make a life for herself and her pals without needing to be owned. She was broken, but didn't let it destroy or devalue her, (unlike Gabby). But Woody was just going to break himself down, or give up part of who he was because he thought Bonnie didn't want him. He spent the whole movie trying to save Forky and just gave up on himself.

Maybe I just wasn't comfortable with the idea that parts of who someone is aren't valuable unless someone else values them.
