Cool!

Yeah I really enjoyed it. We'll see if I feel that way in 6 months lol. Or if a client dies... :( It felt so good to help that little old lady though. You could tell she needed someone to talk to. I happily listened! <3

Lol, It's good work, April :)

I think it might drain me - watch out for emotional fatigue :/

Yes, you're right there. Any tips on how to prevent or combat that?

LOL, NOPE!!

You can practice a level of detachment, I suppose, but it's all hard.

Nah. They deserve better than detachment. I will care too much and cry my eyes out if they die or open up to me or something because they deserve it.

It's a perfect field for you, @April .

The "detachment" will come easily. You'll start to see that it's ok because better they're not suffering.

Yeah, it's sad that you'll miss them, but you gotta also remember that it just comes with the work. So, there is a certain level of "detachment" that you'll learn. It doesn't make you any less caring. It's just: you go to work, and that's your work. You leave it there.

You go home, and you tend to your home. Don't carry emotional burdens with you when you leave their homes/facilities.
