I don't think trying to force yourself to sleep will get you to sleep. What might help is already fully going into a fantasy thought with your mind, that tends to drop easier into dreaming, works for me.
Also no screen light/other light/noise/eating after 8pm/coffee after 4pm/... etc. etc.
