Why are some people on this forum so politically disgusting?

While I do have strong and deeply held opinions, politically, I enjoy being exposed to different positions. Most of the folks on here that share political views are respectful and concise in presenting themselves, but there are a few who delight in vulgar portrayals of prominent individuals representative of opposing points of view. I for one find it distasteful and do not subscribe to the notion that "both sides do it".
The whole idea of "slapping" people verbally with whom one is in a disagreement with quite frankly as no place in this forum, in my opinion. I am thankful when folks point out that I am guilty of it and extremely sensitive to folks, like @slant who raise objections to this kind of behavior.

I do not think sanctions are in order but I do believe that we as a group,especially when discussing politics , should be mindful that we are only pushing other forumeers away from participating when we repeatedly engage in this kind of thing.

Along these lines we should bring back the thumbs down.

I'm fairly certain I have read at least one of your posts indicating you would like to do more than just slap someone with an opposing view to yours.
 
I don't think politically like anyone else. So I don't have much to say about politics, it makes me stupid on the subject and happy. My political beliefs are all over the map.. . so....once again, I don't fit in anywhere while fitting in everywhere.

Some are liberal some are conservative some are in the middle or being apathetic I don't know

That's okay. More flavors to savor. More variety to relish......when we are all being sliced and diced into beef steaks.
 
Im enjoying these emotional outburst threads. The same people fall for it every time.
