How many INFJs assumed they were Ts before they understood typology?

I definitely did. I'm glad I did, too, because the contradictions and similarities that left me feeling uncertain yielded a greater understanding of all the types. This is because I was unsure, so I studied them all :P The same is true for the Enneagram. In-fact I discovered that I am a...

    Abuse is about control

Look at the traits of the Average and Unhealthy Enneagram type 2 for more clarification http://www.enneagraminstitute.com/typetwo.asp

    Abuse is about control

Yes I see we all understand each other. I was speaking in the manner StudebakerHawk did, pointing out that my mom's neediness and control over me (an only child) was abusive although it wasn't illegal. So sometimes abuse is harmless (without actual physical damage) but is imposing nonetheless...

    Abuse is about control

And therefore not entirely harmless at all, but not harm in the conventional sense of the word.

    Abuse is about control

It's not always "abuse" with harm. Sometimes abuse is harmless, but imposing nonetheless.

    Abuse is about control

Abuse takes so many forms. So many on this forum, type nines, are so because their parents or large families imposed themselves upon the subject. Abuse is relative.

The Key Factor in Screening Ni Dominance

I recommend the work done by David Kiersey on the topic. I have not read, nor until now heard of, Lenore Thompson. I also recommend the work by Riso and Hudson on the Enneagram.

The Key Factor in Screening Ni Dominance

My main disagreements with Andy are that Ni is perspective shifting. Perhaps this is true for unhealthy types, but not so for self-realized, essential individuals. And to "relatavize everything"? Could anything be further form the Ni type, the most individual of the 16? Sure, we enjoy our...

The Key Factor in Screening Ni Dominance

Andy is basically illustrating everything our thread-starter is indicting; non-Ni dominants who congregate here are certain of themselves but ignorant of themselves all-the-more. We seem to forget how rare the INFJ type is. Even on the internet. For a year I accepted I was an ENTP. For...

    Enneagram type 9

The only thing I find frustrating, specifically, about me being a 9 and most other people not being a nine is when I have something inside my mind that I want to express, but when it comes out in life language it doesn't convey the meaning I intended.

    INFJs on foreign languages

I don't suppose I'm against learning new languages (I know a touch of Spanish) but I long-ago recognized that I really just wanted to master English! And I mean master it.

    INFJ male + XXXX female?

"dom or aux Si,Se,Te and perhaps Ti." So, Peppermint, does that mean ISTJ/ESTJ? Does it include any N types? SPs? I'm not as well-versed in that terminology.
