I disagree: if someone wishes to have a perfect topiary garden, then he or she should not expect others in the household to trim the hedges weekly. Nor should someone uptight about housekeeping expect others to cow-tow to their expectations.

I disagree: if someone wishes to have a perfect topiary garden, then he or she should not expect others in the household to trim the hedges weekly. Nor should someone uptight about housekeeping expect others to cow-tow to their expectations.
Apples and oranges; the topiary garden is that person's own pet project, while housework affects everyone (because... it's in the house, and people live in the house...). I mean, there's a certain point at which you have to start worrying about cockroach infestations; at that point it becomes a health issue.
