no i'm not saying that materialism is communist but that communism is materialist (at least in the minds of grassroots communists)

I'm saying that the education system which has been controlled by the oligarchic elites who are trying to move us towards their technocratic society of the future tells us that matter precedes consciousness

communists (grass roots level ones) believe in a 'materialist conception of history':

'that all of the ideas of man have sprung from the material environment in which he has lived and moved'

i'm not sure i entirely agree with that

i mean i think that religions have been subverted and controlled by people seeking to control society but i think there are ways to interprete what they are saying that fits in with a more universal human experience

so for example here is jordan peterson (INFJ) speaking about how the story of buddha is the story of our fall into the world of adulthood (chaos) from where we then have to seek a return back to order through the process of redemption

How does materialism aid the purpose of your 'oligarchy' here? I don't follow your logic.

And I have to say that it seems to be a huge victory of capitalism to convince some people that the flaws in the system is actually because of some kind of vague 'communist' conspiracy.

You could make equally convincing claims that the education system is alternately a mechanism to reproduce inherent inequalities, a system of meritocratic (or otherwise) social stratification, a proletarian drudge-factory, or whatever you like.

P.S. I think you're conflating historical materialism (Marxism) with the philosophical position of materialism (as opposed to dualism, &c.), in addition to conflating Marxism with communism.

I watched a documentary once that said the opposite.

It was about a former Nazi scientist who ended up working for the US - the guy who designed the 'doomsday machine', wheelchair, Liquid Snake arm, you know who I mean? Scary stuff.

Okay...so it was some time ago then.
I feel like this belongs in “Dr. Strangelove” and not seriously debated.
I don’t doubt that there are people and maybe even governments of the world for whom world domination or destruction is an ideal outcome and goal of theirs...I’m just not worried about any Communists taking over the US.
There are FAR too many people here that would not be okay with that...hell you mention “democratic socialism” and they just about choke on their food and crap their panties with misconceptions.

Yes...there was a 50/50 chance as one scientist put it...that when they were first conceiving and testing the atomic bomb that it would set off a chain reaction that would cause the atmosphere of the Earth to basically catch fire and kill us all...glad that didn’t happen. ;)

I’m sure there are wackos and some not so wackos designing plagues that will wipe out huge swaths of humanity...especially with CRISPR starting to become available to the masses and morons are already starting to “hack” their own genes and inject themselves with god knows what.

you should read the work of prof anthony sutton and you'll see that there most definately are and have been for a while people in the US who are concerned that corporate oligarchs who control the federal reserve bank intend to create a centrally controlled dictatorial government using technology to enslave every man, woman and child to the state

how old is that conspiracy? is it 'ancient?' i guess that's another debate
