The Daisy (Bellis perennis) is a very hardy perenniel. Heat tolerant, Drought tolerant, versatile (hardy in USDA zones 3-9) not prone to weird diseases or pests. These suckers can be mowed down and grow back. In addition to spreading by rhizomes they are also self-seeding. Even though they prefer nutrient rich soil, they can grow in poor soil.
They are tough. However, they are quite plain. Their foliage looks more weedy than most flowers. And like it has been noted, they don't have a recommendable fragrance. However, the daisy does have astringent properties as well as some coagulant properties.
I consider myself to be tough, a survivor, adaptable. However none of these things are qualities you can see. But, I am also very plain looking, pretty in my own way but not classically beautiful. So, when contemplating what kind of flower I most resemble, the daisy came to mind.
