  • Oh man....if anyone here is cynical, it would be me, but I choose to be optimistic when I respond to people because I know my cynicism is a result of the negative experiences I have had in my life. I don’t wish to “pass” that onto anyone else by being the voice always telling them the glass is half empty. Although, my cynicism is often reflected whether I try to “soften” it or not.
Not too bad....I started back to work...so far it’s going alright, they are trying to accommodate me as well as they can. They have told me they want me to stay there and be happy with what I am doing. Glad to hear that you had a fun time...I look forward to our discussions on the forum...you have an interesting point of view of whatever we talk about.
If you like to figure things out then you may actually enjoy it...the problem solving involved sometimes is fantastically stimulating...that is actually a huge part of what I enjoy about it. It's just the human body instead of a computer. I will absolutely look into the Tai Chi thing...although I think niffer might just say "What? You think I know Tai Chi just because I'm fucking Chinese?"
    lolol.
I used to be a Paramedic...I think our medical titles are different from yours in Australia...they call us "scrub nurses" here...lol.
I have not tried Tai Chi, although it has been suggested to me recently by someone besides you as something that may help...and that would make perfect sense as one of the key things that help relieve the pain and stiffness from rheumatoid arthritis is movement...but not overdoing by something too vigorous (sex excluded).
I'm home too for the moment, I have arthritis in my lower spine....I normally assist with open-heart surgery, but I just cannot stand there for hours and concentrate like I have to with the amount of pain that I was in. So some drastic changes to my medications were made...namely, I stopped all the opioid pain meds that I was on...the high doses were actually causing severe muscle-spasms. Seems like a simple fix, but to detox from pain meds prescribed to me after taking them for 10 years was the worst thing I have ever endured in my 36 years alive...it was fucking hell.
Anyhow...that was 2.5 months ago...feeling better everyday but still have trouble standing for long periods of time....I go swim and exercise 2-3 times a week to get my strength back...so far so good.
Most of the time it is thoughtful...lol...I wouldn't count on it all the time.
There are a lot of helpful people here, and a lot of helpful posts and threads.
Let me know if I can do anything to help you out...I'm on here sporadically throughout the day...it isn't uncommon for me to have to cut-out in the middle of talking to someone...please don't take it personally, because it isn't.
    Nice to meet you.
Thanks for the nice discussion and the friend request! (it doesn't show right away that I accepted...but I did...lol)
Hm... maybe they were rejected for being weirdos : ) but Japanese society forces people to be extroverted and abhors people who shy away from group activities. It's the same with Korean society, and Chinese society to a slightly lesser extent.
...You think. Lol. Japanese people from Japan don't use those terms, but someone with my level of English fluency would almost certainly have had extensive experience living in North America, which encompasses a lot of ethnically Japanese people who were born or have lived in North America.
Haha where did I mention skin colour? : ) Anyway, the second point makes sense lol. But a lot of North American born Asians can be somewhat obsessed with their own culture as a way of expressing "azn pryde".
Two things, actually. First, you mentioned skin colour - Filipinos are obsessed with the subject and are more often than not Japanophiles. Second, wouldn't it make more sense if you were Japanese interested in mainstream Japanese culture that you hanged out in a Japanese forum? I mean... did you ever see an American putting an American iconic item , or an Australian putting a kangaroo or the Sydney Opera House on their avatars?
No, I am not good at math nor am I interested in it, though I wish I was. :)
I am pretty decided on what I want to do (for the moment, anyway).
What kind of project(s) are you working on right now? I wish there was better translation software, and am especially excited for better verbal dictation translating software to hopefully come out in the future.
