Not a fan of the electoral college but I understand why it was put in place.
Beyond that we have a massive problem with voter fraud and until that's taken care of we shouldn't be looking at changing any other aspect of our voting system.
Voter fraud is what keeps Democrats in government. Without it America would suffer far fewer problems.

It's as though you read picture books for a living.

Yeah...all those Democrats in power right now.??
WTF?
Show proof of massive voter fraud or your are just spouting more BS that Trump as vomited into your brain.
This new GOP “healthcare” plan is fantastic btw.
More expensive, waaaaay fewer patient protections, less is actually covered....including mental health (so see em while you can).

You want to talk about voter fraud....lets look at “Operation Red Map” and how the states have been redistricted and gerrymandered by both sides, but mostly by the Republicans, to the point that most people’s vote doesn’t mean anything at all....you can have majorities voting for one person and the exact opposite candidate will win.
Proof.
Proof.
Come on EH, where is the proof?
Wire tapping Trump tower - where is the proof?
You know what there seems to be more and more proof of?
That D Trump is full of shit and so is his cabinet.
That’s Russia has colluded with them...and continues to do so.
That the GOP ACA replacement plan is a fucking joke and is not endorsed like the ACA was by the AMA, or the Nurses Unions, Hospitals, the insurance industry itself, AARP, not to mention a good portion of the actual GOP itself ((Freedom Caucus)) (sorry is that too many acronyms for you?).
It’s giving control not back to the people, but back to the insurance companies.
Proof.
Show the proof, or you are just espousing your embarrassing alternate reality of BS.

Now the new head of the EPA is coming out publicly as a human effected climate change denier.
Yes, please gut the EPA who make sure people aren’t dumping toxic waste into our water supply, of blatantly pollute our skies...I guess if the smog isn’t rivaling Hong Kong it’s okay to keep dumping shit in it...Blade Runner here we come.
These are the people who are supposed to be corporate watchdogs not give out corporate handjobs.
What an idiot...just like the rest of the crew...this has got to be the most idiotic administration in the history of the US...firing State Dept. Diplomats who have intricate knowledge of how Russia works...Rex Tillerson answering ZERO questions about anything asked...he just pretends to not see or hear the people talking to him.
And the new healthcare is pathetic....Trump promised...Cheaper...nope...Better coverage...nope...No one will lose insurance...nope....Won’t touch Medicare or Medicaid...big nope...drug prices will go down...nope.
As if by some magical wave of a wand this new bill is going to convince the insurance companies and drug companies and hospitals, doctors, medical device makers, etc, etc to slash prices to a point people can afford it...it’s not going to happen...premiums will still go up...prices will still go up.
So long as the insurers are behind the wheel...because let’s get one thing straight, they are for profit...the more profits they can make - the more they will try to fleece and gouge. Many of the patient protections from the insurance companies have been torpedoed...so soon we’ll be right back into that same boat of people being dropped for becoming too expensive. Mental healthcare, which is already severely lacking is GONE. Not covered.
Not to mention the destruction of Planned Parenthood who receive no federal funding already for abortions, but supply the poor and those who need it much needed women’s healthcare, contraception, STD testing, etc.
What a joke...and it will take away healthcare from millions of Americans who pay taxes and have always played by the rules.
Our whole Congress is now - For-Profit it seems.

And don’t think for a second that Wikileaks is anything but a front for Putin at this point.
Every time team Trump has fumbled the ball...up pops Wikileaks with a favorable story...for instance...this most recent insane and possibly impeachable Tweet Trump made the other night about Obama wire-tapping him.
Says he has definitive proof, but yet calls for an investigation to find said proof.
Wikileaks pops up - CIA can hack into your electronics, can listen to you.
Who is still blind to the fact that anything and everything you write, say, etc. is being intercepted by more than one group of our own, but also most likely foreign powers as well?
So give me a break Wikileaks...Trump fucked up by writing some insane and impeachable Tweets and you blow a smoke screen to try and discredit our intelligence agencies....most of whom Trump has declared war on...which seems highly irrational and just plain retarded.
We are still being meddled with by Russia, via Wikileaks.

Rest assured, I’m sure if such connections to Russia were found had Hillary won...the Republicans wouldn’t have done everything in their power to expose and impeach her, put her on trial, had hearing after hearing, endless political garbage costing the taxpayers millions of dollars.

Odd that news stations rarely reported on the complaint with Obamacare but are quick to talk of the new proposal.

It’s because the new proposal is about to gut what little bit of healthcare we have left.
And ummm...that was all Fox news talked about the last 8 years.
You are also not addressing the information @Stu has presented...once again, you upchuck echoed opinions and no factual info.
Even when you are paying thousands more for your healthcare if this plan passes - I’m sure you’ll still blame Obama somehow.

I find it odd that you must always resort to personal attacks or attacks on the reality of situations that make Trump and the GOP look bad instead of addressing/attacking/disagreeing with the proof presented.

“We’re going to have insurance for everybody” - D. Trump

“I firmly believe that nobody will be worse off financially in the process that we’re going through.” - HHS Tom Price.

“I’m not going to cut Social Security like every other Republican and I’m not going to cut Medicare or Medicaid.” - D. Trump

LIES.
Prove me otherwise.

(Too bad that mental health services are going to be axed also...there is some severe cognitive dissonance going on here.)

Even though the CBO is respected and often cited by both Democrats and Republicans, conservatives knew that their report was going to confirm basically every horrific thing about the GOP’s plan to screw millions of Americans out of health care.
And that’s exactly what the CBO report did.

Here are a few of the main findings:
  • By 2026, Trumpcare would lead to 24 million fewer people having health insurance.
  • By next year, the number of uninsured Americans would be 14 million higher than under the current law.
  • Typically, premiums for people buying insurance on their own would increase by 15 to 20 percent more in 2018 and 2019 than they would under the current law.
  • Some states would likely discontinue their expansion for Medicaid eligibility.
  • By 2026, 52 million people would be without health insurance, nearly double the projected 28 million under the current law.
  • Medicaid spending would be slashed by 25 percent, with an estimated 14 million fewer people qualifying for the program.
As the New York Times also calculated:
A 64-year-old earning [$26,500] would fare much worse. That person’s $15,300 health plan would be offset by a $13,600 tax credit under current law, leaving the consumer responsible for $1,700. Under the Republican plan, health insurers would be free to charge older people more, raising that person’s premium to $19,500. But the tax credit would be only $4,900, and that person’s share of the premium would then be $14,600.
Meaning that a 64-year-old person with a low-income would end up paying nearly $13,000 more per year for insurance.

For those who don’t feel like doing the math, that means that 64-year-old person would go from paying about 6 percent of their already low income on health care to 55 percent. Realistically, they probably wouldn’t be able to afford health care at a point in their life when most people need it the most.
By all accounts, this “health care” bill is a complete and total disaster when it comes to providing, you know, actual health care. It does nothing to fulfill the GOP’s promises to make health care better and more affordable.

This is unconscionable.

Republicans like Ryan are distracting Americans by claiming this is about “providing access to care” when, in fact, it’s really nothing but a bill to give wealthy Americans a tax break and gut Medicaid.

Leave it to Republicans to support a “health care bill” they promised would “make health care better and more affordable” that literally doesn’t do any of that. Fewer people will have health care, premiums will go up (especially for the poor and older Americans), and coverage will only get worse for most.
Yet according to Ryan, it “exceeded his expectations” because, well, screwing millions of Americans out of health care and gutting Medicaid obviously doesn’t bother him. As long as he can brag about tax cuts for the rich and reducing the deficit, no matter how many poor and elderly people he has to hurt in the process, that’s a “win” in Paul Ryan’s book.

This is another prime example where Paul Ryan’s obvious disdain for the poor was on full display. That he could say a report indicating that the “health care plan” he supports would cause premiums to increase (especially on the elderly and poor), tens of millions of Americans would lose health insurance, and Medicaid would be gutted “exceeded his expectations” is absolutely repulsive.
At the end of the day, it’s indicative of the type of scumbag Paul Ryan truly is.
