The coming American civil war.

A couple of thoughts to begin. The war will nit last long. Liberals do not have the support of the military and the military may by themselves keep this war short. However should the war darg out for a longer duration liberals will still not win. They simply lack the resolve and value comfort over all. So once the war is won what state will America be in. Firm resolution to abide by and follow the Constitution of the United States of America will prevail. Courts will be setup to find and out those who have supported socialism and communism. Their voting rights will be removed. More sever cases will be jailed and in some case removal from the country in its entirety will take place

I'm not understanding if this is hypothetical or someone actually thinks this will happen. Either way, my opinion is that it won't happen. We will always AND should always revert back to our constitution. Those who do not accept this way of life can find the exit. Our founding fathers broke free from chains in order for those who have the drive to excel their circumstances. The evolution of our community has gone in the right direction to give everyone the opportunity for equal life, liberty and pursuit of happiness (medically, educationally, marriage, etc.) It certainly doesn't mean people can sit on their lazy asses and expect to have things given to them. There has to be a way to better filter who is actually destitute in their situation vs. people who want to take advantage. Someone like me does not mind having the One Percenters. Why? They do share their money. They share their money by way of purchasing power, premiums they pay in insurance, donating to nonprofits ... so many ways other than taxes. These people simply HAVE to exist. I also don't believe in minimum wage increasing to $15/hr ... this doesn't give people incentive to better themselves by furthering their education. Bettering and educating oneself equals bettering a community as a whole. Socialism is a form of slavery.

Anyway, my ADD is trailing off, and I don't even remember what I am supposed to be talking about. lol

I don't necessarily agree. Liberals are known for getting jailed on purpose during demonstrations and they like to party in the mud (aka hippies). They typically will incite violence and use subversive maneuvers to make their opponents seems stupid and gain sympathy. In a long civil war I think the liberals would win. In a short war it is likely the conservatives will win since they will likely have militias on their side. Unfortunately militias don't have psyops.

I I think the federal government has too much to lose with a civil war. After all, who would I pay my taxes to in this situation?

I hope the socialists win

*Sigh* I will never ever understand Americans. The people who want to take "take advantage" really amount to nothing, just like when Reagan talked about the "welfare queens". Its a myth that people have bought into, that somehow the poor are these lazy losers who want to sponge off the rest of us honest hard workers. Meanwhile billions of dollars goes to banks to bail out their sorry a$$es and no one seems to bat an eyelash. Bankers in other countries went to jail for the fraud they perpetuated in 2008, but not America. The issue is not whether the one percenters exist, the issue is the gap between the one percenters and the other 99%. You think they share their money and it somehow trickles down to the rest of us. Well it doesn't and that been proven time and time again. So you seemly have no problem bailing out the banks, yet you begrudge giving working people a decent wage. You have no trouble subsidizing companies like Wal-Mart who refuse to pay their workers a decent wage. You are subsidizing them by paying for social assistance to their workers.
the and Sriracha No offence, but you wouldn't know a true socialist if you tripped over one on the street.

Honestly Americans need to wake up. Listen, I mean actually listen to what Bernie Sanders is saying. That would be a good start.

Oh no! A Left Wing extremist! lol

don't worry, if the economy tanks there will be no motive for socialism because there will be not wealth to redistribute.

Then we'll just create some. If the bankers can invent money, then so can we.

Yep most Canadians are, but we aren't Americans so we don't count

I believe in large part that for a civil war to take place, people would have to be motivated with sufficient desire as to get them off their couches and away from the most recent episode of Jersey Shore or whatever nondescript reality TV show is dominating the air waves today. In short, a civil war will never take place. Unfortunately the majority of Americans would hardly care about anything other than you turning their TV off.

So like a socialist is a homeless person? Those are the only people I've seen laying in the street. Plus I use the sidewalk.

I wish more people were able to see the rationale behind what you have said. It would make things easier and better.

Please do elaborate.

I think all hell will break loose in europe before that tbh. We got violent left extremists and violent right extremists, and we got an issue with our borders being litterally overrun and being unregulated. When things aren't being regulated resourses and care do not reach where they should and tentions rise between the left and right.

People like donald trump have appeal for people who are scared by the loss of control shown on the news. More and more people begin to realize just how pointless and cash draining education is becoming, more and more people don't believe they will receive their pentions when they get old, more and more people don't feel it is safe in the current world climate to have kids anymore.

We got issues in the west. its called lack of a common goal and lack of consistency and a complete uther disregard for our own people, terrible leadership and disasterous allocation of finances. All those pointless wars since WW2. each and every one of them a major mistake. I think trump is not an idiot for wanting to close the borders against illigal immigration. If he couples it with a foreign policy where he reduces / minimalises overseas costs, and takes down things like TPP and TTIP and focuses those resources In country then he might be able to stabalise the US enough to avoid the same fate that the EU at this rate will suffer. His wish to increase spending on the militairy and modernise it is not that dumb either. I think it's rather smart because without the EU america is pretty much on its own in the political scheme of things. I think Sanders would make mostly the same decisions in spending aside from perhaps the milirairy ones. Should hillary become president though, she will start a war to distract the american public from internal issues and she will further divide the states and harm its relations with the rest of the world.

Either way, we've seen world wars start in less tense situations than we have today. I can understand your concern of a civil war. Just keep in mind, the EU is facing the exact same problems only with cultures that are not compatible with our own.
I do think that something we should all keep in mind, is that the far right usually rises when the far left has moved too fast/stepped out of line, causing ordinary people to vote against the left and finding the right balance between the two is the key to avoiding things like civil war.

Bernie Sanders would never have my vote. Yes, you do offend me and that was your intention in the first place. Here is the problem, no one person on this forum would make me change my opinion ... yet you try anyway. You are wasting your breath, and how interesting that you completely didn't take an interest in the beginning part of my statement. You are Canadian and support your government, just as I do mine. The OP asked for opinions, and I gave mine.

Sriracha It wasn't my intention to offend you. It was my intention to challenge your beliefs, which to me is the essence of debate. If you have no interest in debating your beliefs that’s fine with me. You know where I stand, and I doubt you or any of the other people on this forum are going to change my beliefs either

Then don't assume that I don't know what a true socialist looks like.
