seems improved to me...

I wish the bar on the left side was optional. I find it distracts me.

What's wrong with it??? Everything!!!

I can't type, my stomach is reacting badly to so much destruction of beauty at once... Whatever you do, don't press the search button... DON'T!!!

Ugly, also what happened to youtube? the new interface sucks is ugly, clumsy and is less functional.

Hallelujah!

Both need to be corrected ASAP! This is an emergency of international significance! Also, Google need to fire Agent Schmidt immediately! Or... just pay him lifetime tenure/salary/whatever (he's just in it for the money), and allow someone less superficial, like Page and Brin, to drive things there.

Agreed we didn't need the side bar.

It's funny, it's like the managers thought, "what are our competitive advantages? Ok then lets completely overhaul those things and go with cookie-cutter shitty versions.

In these harder economic times I have seen a few organisations seem to be leaning on the power of their brands way too much, little do they realise all they're probably doing is damaging their brand for (little) short term gain.

I can search for cats in the images based on colors. What more could I honestly want?

yep, and it's the internet, as soon as a good alternative comes around that is just as user-friendly as google USED to be, people will be all over it. google shouldn't become too complacent, a few more changes like this and they'll lose a chunk of their market.

very bing-ish

that's what I thought too. they've made it more like bing, which is wholly unnecessary since people use google BECAUSE it's simple and uncluttered unlike bing.

it's like the simpsons copying family guy, by introducing more low brow and slapstick humor into their show, and in the process losing the subtlety and realistic drama that made the show so popular to begin with.

Ergh, google seems to have taken lessons from Facebook.

These features are nifty and all but honestly... how often am I going to use these bloody things? It'd be awesome if I could click a button to remove the left side content and have it as normal, and click another button at the top to bring it back again on the rare occasion that I might use it. Since it doesn't I think it's fucking horrible. Honestly, how hard would that be to do?

Hmm. I kind of like the innovation behind the changes in websites. It's refreshing. I just take it as it is and adapt accordingly. Whether I personally like the new layout or not, I can still use Google for the same purpose I always have.

They always had this option in google; it's complete redundancy to have them aside, and above. I also like changes, when they are good, but this is horribly done on too many levels to explain.. I'm glad people have bombarded their blogs with protests.

This simply isn't google anymore, it has become ugly like a porn site. It's like someone, who doesn't understand what google is, has become the CEO and decided to show off his personal touch, which in this case couldn't have been more distasteful, redundant, unoriginal and just purely disgusting.

Only one thing could compete with such monstrous atrocity - the default 'design' of myspace (but that's fine because myspace is a porn site).
