Okay, I volunteered to do this, and now I'm sort of spinning down in one of my bipolar depressions, and my creativity sucks at this particular moment. I need help.

You might remember that I help out at a Toaist temple which does a non-religious Youth Virtue Development Day every other month, and a two-day summer camp. One of the virtues we've been trying to teach the kids is being grateful for the things you have. The staff wants some kind of camp song about thankfulness that is super easy to learn and can be song throughout the two day summer camp.

All the lyrics I'm coming up with are way to complicated. This really needs to be a super easy sing along. The youngest kid is 5, and the oldest is 16 (although we're gonna have him playing the guitar).

Any budding lyrics writers here that would like to have your lyrics set to music and immortalied by three dozen adorable kids?

If I can't present anything at the next meeting, we will probably opt for the "Thankful Heart is a Happy Heart" song from Veggie Tales.

Grateful. A Song of Giving Thanks.

Hi Gracie Ruth.

I went to gratefulness.org and found my way to a Youth page.

I saw reference to a book written for children ages 4 to 12 - which led to me a song - where I found on youtube.
Maybe you could use this.

Grateful: A Song of Giving Thanks, by John Bucchino, celebrates our daily blessings, brought to life by Anna-Liisa Hakkarainen’s enchanting illustrations, and a CD of the song, gently sung by Art Garfunkel. (All ages)
