A lot of individuals on this forum are music lovers and I was wondering if our music choices were actually representative of anything that correlates with mbti. I tried this little idea on INTJ forum chat and my music was, supposedly, riddle with a lot of artist who were ST and NF (Artist that reeked from Se, Te, and Fi use). So, to test this (and mostly to just have fun) I have a little exercise for the people who wish to participate.

The rules are simple:


  1. The first poster will post a piece of music, preferably with a video.
  2. The next poster will give a overall impression of the music (and video if one is provided)
  3. The poster will then decide what the overall MBTI type of the music group is
  4. The poster will then post a piece of music
  5. ????
  6. Profit


If you don't have your type listed on your profile, I'd for you to state your MBTI type in your post; if you do not know or do not wish your mbti to be used in this little experiment, just state that that will be the case.


tl;dr

The first poster will post a link to a song (preferably something off of youtube WITH a video, if you can) and then the next poster will give their impression of the overall video and a impression of what the MBTI type of the music group is. After this, the poster will then post a music video and the cycle will go on.

And with that, the first video is a song by Rise against: Kotov Syndrome.

edit: sorry misunderstood the premise! ok i think the MBTI of that group is ST. (do we have to be more specific than that?)

Just a note: I edited the rules a bit. I guess it seems kinda odd that I didn't even follow my own rules haha.

I did not got in tune with the rhythm like I usually do with the music I enjoy. I believe the music to be ESFP in style.

Extremely NF in a music sense. Dreamy and distant. I think it matches INFP rather well.

...this took absoutely every ounce of my being to tollerate listening to this. MY EARS ARE BLEEDING! goodlord (no offence, but this style of genre is absoultely painful for me to listen to).

I would have to go with NT, probablly INTP fighting over their inferior Fe.

INFJ was my first impression though it was a bit hard for me to decode. I certainly got a Ni sense from this which was later accompanied with feeling.

I'm torn between INFJ and INFP..but probably INFJ. Good song by the way, one of my favourite of Mariah Carey.

It sounds funky and laid back but not loud, its got a strong IXTP feel to it.
