How do you feel about your personality flaws?

Are you usually comfortable admitting that you have flaws? Or do you usually hide them or hide from them?

Do you think it matters whether or not you're open or honest about them?

Proceed . . . :m052:

Poll to be added . . . *yes, i love ellipses, so hate me ; )*

I hide them most times, there are a lot of flaws to cover!

I think it is important to recognize them and to ask for help if you need it. I try to be honest, but it seems like as soon as I have myself pegged down, I change.

I have no personality flaws.
All I have is unfinished works-in-progress.

What is a "flaw" anyway?
Compared to what?

Poll added . . . heh

I hate my personality and who I am most of the time. I'd try and hide it but doing so would be like trying to put Mt. Everest under a pic-nic blanket.

I usually wish I were not INFJ on a daily basis.
Wishful thinking...

:m077::m077::m077:THE HORROR!!!

Is that really such a bad thing? With too much complacency with who I am comes lack of personal growth. Not liking who I am becomes a great motivating factor for improvement.

I understand, but "hate" is such a strong word. . . hmm. I can understand the desire for personal growth and development, but you can appreciate who you are and grow, without hating everything about you. Appreciate the good things first, and then consider how to help develop the other stuff.

You are what you are.
What you have is what you get.
Work with it and love it: you can't make it go away.
Treat it like a baby bird, fallen from its nest.
Care for it. Raise it as your own.
Then when it is strong and healthy, set it free to live its life.
See it fly.

I use my flaws to learn and grow.

They teach me restraint.

I just picked the one I thought was funny! But that being said... I try to work on bettering myself as much as I can. I do that by trying to look at all sides of situations and truly listening to constructive criticism even if it does hurt a bit.

I know I have flaws.. many.. I am human after all (shh.. dont tell anyone).

Dneecey, no! You're superhuman!

I love my flaws...they give me a good chuckle!!! In my INFJ search for truth and connection with all that is, it helps sometimes to be reminded that I am an complete idiot. Cracks me up every time!!!!

Fine - I'll restate it.
I really wish my personality was NOT such that:
- I feel lonely all the time
- I push away what I actually want
- I don't go for what I really want
- I'd rather choose to fail instead of fail trying to succeed
- I'm hypocritical and hypercritical

I have personality flaws!? :m075:

Kidding, of course. I'm perfectly comfortable with mine, so long as I'm aware of them. When I first notice something that might be a flaw, I'm rather defensive about it, though. It's mostly because I've just started to confront it and find it's place in things.

Exactly. Define a flaw and give me a list. :)

A "flaw" is a subjective judgement where something is seen to be inferior to another thing, or the state of another thing.

There are two men.
One is a man.
The other is a stupid man.
The stupid man has a flaw.
His flaw is his stupidity.
What is his stupidity?
His ability to hold a differing viewpoint from the man who is not stupid.

Stupidity could also be the inability to discern what is clearly seen, but not readily apparent.
