Here is the thing the company they are in “SM entertainment” is in Korean and It has many famous kpop groups one of them being NCT.
WayV was invented to replicate this Korean speaking group to a Chinese one because Kpop has a very big audience from china. WayV basically is a branch from NCT so that means is still considered Kpop.
