The night has come
So quietly quick
To welcome the dawn
Of the New Year's tick

The time is ripe
For new resolution,
one yearly attempt at
perennial ablution

And forget our ills
And seek a new song
To provide new thrills

our words will not ring as empty chimes;
We'll move onward with force, taking a chance
leaving the fears of yesterday behind without a glance

It's time for new rhymes and I'm saying them today
Bringing forth the verbiage with articulated play
Mixing like a Bruce and matching like a Lee
But the punch is in my words cause my fists are lacking fury
