Finances: Do you and your spouse/significant other maintain separate bank accounts?

My SO and I share bank accounts, savings, property, etc. It works for our "team" mentality. We didn't merge accounts until after we were married, but we had access to each other's accounts before that.
We do know a lot of couples who keep separate accounts. It works best for them, especially in circumstances where they have vastly different spending habits.
I don't recommend keeping them separate if you are from two different countries, because immigration looks at this as a possible sign of a fake marriage during interviews.
