Thought this might be a fun thread to catch fire. :)

Netflix has a large amount of Ted Talks and I think I've found my most favorite Ted Talk ever.

Of course, after that I thought this the perfect compliment. (another favorite series)

All the lectures from Alan Watts and Joseph Campbell - they influenced my philosophy so much.

I especially loved this one. For so many reasons. Everything I work on, every person I choose to stay connected to, is so deliberate because of all the lessons and life I've learned in order to understand value (true value), worthy investments that procreate by the very nature of their worth and the cultivation of experience and mind ...

Seriously. I used to be in such a comfortable scenario and I found myself faced with a choice to be comfortable and selfish or to do my best to love and grow and learn, burning the house down in the process. And I think that's her point. The deeper meaning. Of course most I hope don't have as many difficulties to work through than I did but the concept is the same and shared.

Our twenties is the time to burn down the house (wake up, tear down walls etc) and our thirties is the time to build from a firm foundation of who we are and who we want to be. So many people go about their life as if they're fulfilling a script. It's sad and catches up later. This video was incredibly refreshing and an awareness I can relate to. My best friend is always complaining how I talk about age so much. Yeah, maybe a little "ugh" about it. Grieving opportunities I didn't take because I was busy setting things right. But I guess I'm always pushing the awareness so she has more control in navigating her future, landing it right where she wants it to be. Such an important Ted talk I hope hasn't been overshadowed.

Have you read Campbell's book? :)

yes - The Hero with the Thousand Faces. After I read the book I understood why many cultures always depict the life journey of man in similar themes. Many of these cultures were not in contact whatsoever. The book is really the retelling of a mans journey to conquer evil and the evil that resides within the person. The hero's journey is the average person's life; struggling to bring the inner light within and to have consciousness reign and to live from a light source. It's very layered, complex, spiritual and everyone will get something meaningful from it. The PBS telecasts of his series on the Myth of Man is also very enlightening. He taught at Sara Lawrence College until his death. I would have loved to have taken a class lecture from him.

Me Too!! Happy to get the good review. :) He has some youtube videos out but I came across his work from some articles. I still have yet to read the book. It's one of those books I've yet to forget is on my list of books to read. lol! :p

He gave us the evidence that we are all the protagonists of our own story. So essentially, this video counts :p

Goggle Talks are about as cool as the Ted Talks if you dig docs and lectures.
Figured it was an appropriate topic considering it's an infj forum. :p
