Solving hard problems, doing rigorous intellectual work, and, particularly, mathematics.

Eating fish often is supposed to forestall dementia.

eat the flesh of your intelligent enemies

you will absorb their powers

A healthy, balanced diet will give your brain all it needs to function well. Fish oil as a supplement can be of benefit in some individuals.

That said, the brain is best “maintained” by using it, much as Norton said. Add to that the neurological benefits of regular aerobic exercise, exposure to novel stimuli, and sexual intercourse.

Of course, the effects of any foodstuff/supplement/activity/mental task/pharmaceutical on brain function are going to depend on the individual in question. Endogenous neurotransmitter secretion, reception, and mediation will affect the effect of the aforementioned, as will neurological development (or disorder).

Hemp powder is very good for you.

I always found philosophy to be great food for thought. The further you push your thought boundaries the better it is for your brain plasticity.
