So let’s discuss ALL of the Presidential nominees, not just the one’s who are of a certain political party.
Let’s weight the issues and keep it civil…I won’t stop anyone from saying something I personally disagree with because I am living in my own “bubble” of reality that says “My opinion is the only opinion that matters, and I will dismiss everything you say regardless of facts because I personally am of the OPINION that everyone else is wrong if they don’t adhere to my own stance.”
Not taking all sides seriously IS living in a bubble.

You can share that here if you wish, but I don’t see why we cannot discuss every Presidential Nominee?
If you think that only a Republican/Libertarian has a chance to win then yes, I believe you are living in a bubble.
Even I can admit that any side has a chance to win…even the Republicans.

So let’s have an uncensored, yet civil discussion.
BTW…funny meme’s are fine, I don’t have a stick up my ass, just don’t spam them.

My own personal opinion is that we have a serious problem with a lack of serious candidates.
And all these folks in the nomination run-off aren’t chosen by the people…they are chosen by the biggest donors.
That isn’t how it is supposed to work, and I don’t think it will work very well this time around.

That’s my opinion, you are welcome to share your own, regardless of your stance.
Thank you.

I don't even know what party names mean anymore. They sure as hell don't mean what they used to lol.

Anyway, here's my take

Well, it wasn’t supposed to be just two parties…and I really don’t personally believe that the two parties are very representative of the people they are supposed to serve.
It sucks that we have to chose between two people that we had absolutely ZERO say in choosing as the final two.
That’s wrong and needs to be corrected if we are going to call ourselves a democracy.

That's why I don't really vote. If I did vote it wouldn't be for who they selected so I might as well just not do it and pretend I did. Same difference.

are we serious with this title here? We don't need to be passive-aggressive.

If you go back and read the response I received this morning it was quite clear that everything I said in that thread would be censored.
If I was all for their candidate that wouldn’t be an issue would it?

The title isn’t passive aggressive it’s emphasizing that it’s a truthful title instead of the misleading one that EH posted.

I have my fingers crossed for Sanders, but I think those in positions of power will do their very best to make him go away.
Problem is, he is consistently polling better than anyone in the GOP, and he’s close behind Clinton.
And he’s done it all without the big money corporate donors.
So it will be interesting to see if he is stifled or if the people will force their hand.

The circus of politics and news-media isn’t much different from a WWE production – it’s a scripted show for those hungry to be entertained. Trump is just performing his role - the mouthpiece for the Hegelian Dialectic of "Right" vs. "Left". If Right and Left mattered, why did the Obama administration assassinate Bin Laden outside of a court of law? Why are we still sending remote drones onto targets that kill innocent civilians? At this point, I feel like it doesn't matter who the president is -- we'll still be lied to, and those who are born into resource-rich countries but controlled by another country will still suffer at the hands of the more privileged. The only candidate I've seen take a stand against the lies (especially with Hillary Clinton and Benghazi) and the militarization of the police is Rand Paul. But no one is really saying anything about him, other than Trump maturely calling him a "loser".

It works pretty well in Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Strong economies, high standard of living and a highly educated mass of people.

They will never admit that it could work that well in the US…even though for a time it was working quite well.
After WWII, we fucking rocked the economy and the standard of living, education, etc…then when those folks grew up, the privatized it all in the name of “capitalism” and now people have to take on huge debt just to go to college…which is a prerequisite for any job that will pay you a decent wage. So many kids have no choice but to take out loans. There are ways around it, but it takes more time and the powers that be don’t make it easy to do it for free either.
Now everything is privatized and now everything is way more expensive and way more shitty.
I think people are getting fed up though…you can see it in the anger expressed through the Trump supporters, they are just misguided IMO.
Bernie Sanders will automatically have a hard time because he is a self-identified democratic socialist, and unfortunately our country has been educated to believe that word is not only wrong but it’s almost like a curse word to some.
Just look at our movies from the 80’s “Red Dawn”, “Rocky IV” (which was basically a movie who’s message was - “How dare you even try to fight America, we have more tenacity and will concur you.”)
It’s this mentality along with the whole Cold War propaganda still hanging on that perpetuates people’s ignorance that Socialism can be a very functional and very democratic (probably more so than what we currently have) system.

I agree with you, and I actually agree with Rand Paul and his Father on some issue, but not all.
I doubt he could win, just like I doubt Bernie Sanders can win - they aren’t playing the money game like the rest of them.
If you aren’t beholden to all the big corporations and banks then you cannot be a serious candidate in the US in this day and age.
That is why we should overturn the Supreme Courts decisions that let all this money flood the political process and we should in fact hold them in contempt themselves and boot them out entirely…along with all of Congress.
But now I’m dreaming hahahaha

Crash Course In Our Dysfunctional Electoral College: Jack Rakove at TEDxStanford

Jack Rakove brings thought-provoking conversations on history into the public forum, talking about America's founding fathers on programs such as
The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

The New York Times said of Jack Rakove, "He sounds like an interesting man, the kind who sometimes gets his boots muddy."
Rakove is the William Coe Professor of History and a professor of political science at Stanford, where he has taught since 1980.
He is the author of six books, including Original Meanings: Politics and Ideas in the Making of the Constitution, which won the Pulitzer Prize in History, and Revolutionaries: A New History of the Invention of America, which was a finalist for the George Washington Prize.

He writes frequently on the origins and interpretation of the Constitution and submitted an amicus curiae brief on the Second Amendment to the Supreme Court in District of Columbia v. Heller.

In a perfect world, I would like to see Bernie Sanders become president of the united states. Here's why it will never happen.

1) Fear and loathing in the US. Americans are scared of labels like "socialist" and "left-wing". Republicans would run the scariest looking, commie ads that would freak people out.
2) Religion. Sanders is a Jew. He would be breaking a long line of christian presidents. And boy would they love a Jewish president in the North-west and south, huh?
3) Money. Sanders would have a hard time rolling in money from corporate america. It's a dirty business, especially in American politics. Money makes the world go around.

Hillary would be fine. I'm OK with her. She's experienced and intelligent. That's about as much as you could ask of an American president. Note, intelligence doesn't necessarily mean correct decision making 24/7!

Worst case scenario would be Mike Huckabee or Scott Walker. Their extremism about abortion and unions scare me.

I agree with you…I think we will start to see those ads any day now, ugh.
I think Hilary’s hand is stuffed into the cookie jar of corporate money just like 98% of these jokers.
No way Scott Walker is going to win, or Mike Huckabee…they are all trying to see who can be the most extreme right-wing candidate because they see Trump gaining ground for his insensitive, ignorant, and racist comments, and feel they have to try to turn the crazy dial up higher.
I feel it will be to their own destruction ultimately…the country will see them as not moderate enough and they will lose IMO.

Notice how Jeb Bush is keeping his trap shut for the most part?
His handlers are playing the long game here.

I really just like his style, even though I disagree with some of his positions. I like that he is not a normal politician, but trust that he would not try to dismantle Social Security or Medicare/Medicaid.
