President Donald Trump

Tired of the B.S. the socialist party is spewing. Questioning Trumps win B.S.. When Hillary is convicted Trump needs to be the one who first closes the cell door on her.

Big list.
You constantly say reduce military spending. Can you elaborate on why you think this is a good idea?
It's excessive. We don't even actually chart how much we spend on military....a lot of money that goes to fund the military is not even listed in the budget, meaning, we do not INCLUDE it as a part of a budget and just cake the expenses on top of the pie chart of what we spend our money on. I'm not pro military industrial complex.

I suppose it would be easy to say we spend to much on everything the government is responsible for without understanding where the money is actually going. Using this logic, we could say the government is spending to much money on education. Of course I don't believe that, it's just a point I am trying to make.
I'm more interested in the close to trillion dollars that has gone missing during Obama's Presidency. That's trillion with a T. Just gone with absolutely no explanation.
In any case, my next question for you is, do you believe the military is of no use at all?

Easy enough to give insurance to everyone. Not so easy to pay for it.
Question, let's say somehow Trump really does it. Maybe it's not perfect but is clearly better than Obamacare. Do you think his detractors will sit down and stop foaming at the mouth?

The guy is not even President yet. One thing is for sure...he can crash and burn. Then doesn't everyone who voted for him look like fools. But what if he really pulls it off? What if he actually makes things work?

It will be interesting to see. It's my opinion that both republicans and democrats want him to fail in a big way. All of them scared he will succeed because if he does, the public will realize they don't need career politicians after all and never have.

I haven't really made up my mind on his healthcare plan because he will not give details.. just vaguely states that everyone will be covered and it will cost less and be better. I think he differs from Republicans like Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell who are gleefully peeing their pants at the thought of repeal-- with no plan to replace. Maybe he does have a decent idea. I can only hope so. I do not understand how everyone will be covered for less and we will keep the popular parts of ACA without single payer. When I read that article at first I was thinking... Is he alluding to single payer!? But then he says it will not be. If he can make healthcare work for EVERYONE... I may dislike him a little less.

I hope he implements term limits and also bans politicians from becoming lobbyists for 5 years after serving in office. He has a few decent ideas but then he mucks it up with a lot of insanity. Though if politicians were more like Bernie Sanders, I would not want to see term limits. It's just that the majority of our government is infested with corrupt politicians.

If he can do that I will like him a lot more. It will go a long way toward me believing he's not full of it. I personally have a different take on healthcare but if he can get it to everyone and keep the cost down I think I'll call him a miracle worker.

My very great worry though is that Trump is stepping into his role as President believing he can control and run Congress like a business. When someone fails or for that matter ignores you in Congress, you can't just fire them. I'm not sure if he knows that or not.

Actually it's really easy, just make it a law and bring the IRS into the mix. Just like with Obamacare. Pay or go to one of our many prisons. That is probably how he will do it too.

Every move the Republicans have made so far have been against the public interest.
The poor people just gotta pull up their bootstraps and work harder, it’s their own fault for being in the spot they are.
Paul Ryan and Ayn Rand can explain how the poor are the real criminals better than I can. ;)
I can attest that the ACA saved my life too when I needed it the most.
My employer based health insurance at the HOSPITAL where I worked was expensive and shitty.
They paid for jack shit.
When my arthritis got worse in my spine the insurance denied the IV Remicaid treatment that my Rheumatologist prescribed to me...I appealed...I was denied...I appealed along with 4 doctors all saying the same thing...but it was deny, deny, deny.
Keep in mind that every time I saw the Doctors to try and get proper treatment I had to pay a shit-load out of pocket, and it was very financially straining.
When my medical leave ran out and I could not physically stand for 12-16 hour days and do heart surgery I became very unreliable as a worker for the first time in my life since I started working at 17...which was a big deal for me, strong work ethic was always taught to be a very important thing by my parents.
So the hospital let me go...even though I always went above and beyond what was expected of me and I never once had anything but perfect employee reviews. (to even be considered for the Heart Team you have to really know your shit and be a very reliable person...I did hearts for 6 years and all other surgeries for 12 total...before that I was a paramedic...so I think that should count for something)
Thanks for helping create the four star open heart program, here’s the door.
So there I was...in so much pain I could barely shower myself...couldn’t sleep because of the severe pain and now - get this, the hospital sent bill collectors after me for medical bills incurred using their own doctors and with no source of income - because you can’t file unemployment and file for Disability at the same time...they even tried to take me to court to pay (didn’t work).
The ACA took me on immediately...and had it not been there I would have been royally fucked - I honestly probably would have just offed myself.
But...I was able to get health insurance right away (about 5 years before that I tried my hand as being a surgical sales rep. and no insurance would take me for any price because of my arthritis - or they would take me on for a ridiculous price but not cover anything related to my arthritis.)
WTF?
Guess what...I was started on Remicaid immediately, and it made an immediate difference...because I fucking NEEDED it - I was out of the heavy duty pain...but because the insurance ran me in circles for so long the arthritis spread further up my back and did more permanent damage to my SI joints and vertebrae.
So now I was receiving proper treatment, but it was too late.
This is why I get pissed when people want to take the ACA apart without having a replacement already in place.
If you leave people hanging, people are going to die or kill themselves....or end up disabled.
It saved my life...I know it isn’t perfect...it needs to be amended so it is actually “affordable” to all people in every tax bracket...I understand that.
But to dissolve it and leave people out to dry for political points is inhumane and psychotic at best.
And those who are enjoying seeing people lose their health insurance are apathetic asshole human garbage...karma is a mean bitch...what goes around, comes around.
How many of them call themselves “Christians” is beyond reason.

We are better than this as a nation.
We can double our navy and air-force and create more nukes (as if we don’t have enough to blow the fucking world up 10x’s over already)...but we can’t educate our people and provide an affordable and quality healthcare system that works for everyone?

I am so glad you were able to get the treatment you needed through the ACA. My brother is an RN and he says every hospital he has worked in provided terrible insurance benefits to their employees.

We used to be a private not for profit hospital when I first started there.
We had great medical benefits and even a pension plan...a pension plan...can you believe it?
Then the hospital was bought by Peacehealth (oxymoron in their case).
Peacehealth is a giant Catholic hospital conglomerate.
Pensions were dismantled...medical benefits turned to crap...they even fired 500 low level employees right before Christmas one year while the upper management gave each other million dollar bonuses (it was even in the paper).
Makes me disgusted...they were the furthest thing from the “healing ministry of Jesus” they loved to blabber about.
It’s continued to get worse and worse...those I know who still work there say the benefits keep getting slimmer.
And pay raises were nonexistent.
Still considering suing them.

I don't believe in the military industrial complex. LOL guess how much money went missing during Bush's rule: 2.3 trillion dollars.

For me it isn't that confusing. A good (or real) christian would never be able to vote for someone like that. It would go against everything they believe in. It would be like voting for the devil.

But many had supported him and are continuing today. Its an uneasy feeling to vote in politics, its not as emotionally intelligent as one would admire or aspire to be. In some ways, it discourages someone who is after the greater good. There is none after all.

I think there are different kinds of intelligence. Trump has vast "street" smarts while Obama knows what's on paper. Also it's a mistake to judge someone as being smart just because they speak well.
Trump is simply more intelligent than Obama and that shows. As for classy... people put on facades. I don't think Trump does.
Some people were pulled in by his lies (he is a con man). A good portion of them voted out of hatred for minorities. Some people are mad at the government and want to make a point by voting for an outsider regardless of what a moron he is, but they didn't really think that one thru because they just screwed themselves. There are more but none of them making any rational sense.

They placed their hope in a tyrant's hands and now we are all screwed. So there is no hope anymore.

Being able to speak well is a great sign of some sort of intelligence. The only thing that is admirable about Trump is that he doesn't hold back what he truly thinks and feels about things. And I respect someone who has an opinion. Clinton put a better "face" on than Trump but once people vote democrat than they vote republican and than the cycle repeats.

I'd give someone the credit of being knowledgeable if they fought for respectable honor through the education of national universities. Trump says what he feels. Obama considers how it is going to affect him later. This lack in trump is exactly why "liberal" media made him outrageous.

That is exactly what I like about Trump too. He says exactly what he is thinking and feeling. And that is why I didn't vote for him.

Having the courage to say what is on your mind is preferred and encouraged but it doesn't make what you are saying true (and in his case, hardly ever true). A person shouldn't be given credit (or a vote) 'just because' they lack a filter. The quality and reliability of those words and that person need to be considered first. Plus, there is a way to say what's on your mind...a time to express how you feel. And neither include twitter. He shows zero class and has zero control over his inaccurate verbal diarrhea. We are now stuck with a mentally disturbed train wreck as our president. Yay.

Words hold power. And the tone along with timing that a person decides to take could be the difference between war and peace.

Your story can only be described as powerful and brutal. By most measurements Canada is poorer than the US (so are Iceland, Sweden, and Germany) yet we manage to afford single payer.

You sir, are a survivor. Your story also tells why the things we fight for are not in the abstract, they are personal. Decisions made impact millions of people's lives. This is an awesome (in the literal sense of that word) responsibility. Also we must hold power accountable, if we cannot speak truth to power, well then everything else falls apart.

The rest of world watches America

Thank you for your encouragement.
It will pass...as everything else in life does...I just have to keep reassessing my position in the universe.

I put my story out there so people will see the extent of how difficult to navigate and/or pay for healthcare can be here in the US.
And there are people worse off than me.

I hope people were paying attention to the “swamp being drained” aka - the selling out of America.
Trump has promised on MANY occasions that Medicare and Medicaid will not be cut.
That those seniors, disabled, etc. are going to lose their coverage - or it will be even more unaffordable, if this nominee is chosen.
How very sad.
