In light of School Shootings. What about the shooter themselves?

Does that mean 1 out of 100 schoolteachers could be....psychopaths?
1 out of 100 hunters?
1 out of 100 eighth graders?
1 out of 100 infjs?

Maybe that should be reclassified?
Scarecrows answer.

Probably the 8th graders.
Probably the hunters.
Probably lesser so the teachers.
And then probably not INFJs. (though maybe at a disproportionately small number) ((and one could argue that a TRUE INFJ couldn’t be lacking in emotion, unless through some terrible trauma., but then are they still an INFJ at that point?))
Actually…psychopaths have been shown to be naturally drawn to certain types of professions.

There is a really good book called “The Psychopath Test” give it a pursuing.

I agree with withholding the name…I wish the media would just let it be…but everyone gets so excited to learn all the juicy details of how fucked up so-and-so was/is…let’s look at their life under the media microscope and wildly speculate on what they were probably thinking at the time. (besides it reassures people about their own lives and mental state)
I get really sick of the so-called “experts” the news brings in on mental health or whatnot, it's such a circus side-show now.

Like I said - I am not against responsible gun purchasing and ownership.
I don’t want anyone who has a legitimate right now who owns a gun to have that right taken away.
It sounds like your state has some really great checks in place, but it’s not consistent across the US.
Here is an interactive map that shows what states have what checks and most of them have nil.
http://www.governing.com/gov-data/s...irearms-bankground-checks-state-laws-map.html

Like I said, I carried a side-arm 9mm in the Coast Guard and have fired the .50 cal a few times, I have shot just about every type of gun you can think of…fully auto AKs, M14s, shotguns, handguns, in fact…a friend of mine had one of these hahaha - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnum_Research_BFR
Man did that thing kick like a mule! (his holster on his hip also made me laugh, since he was like 5.5’ and the barrel of the gun almost went to his knee hahaha)

The point though is - the current paradigm is not working, it is either a problem with mental health or a problem with guns - why can’t it be both?
I swear I don’t want to take your guns just me…and honestly that will never happen here in America - there would be too many folks upset who would grab pitchforks (or guns).
It’s like trying to get the health insurance companies out of health care so we can have a single payer system like the rest of the civilized world and maybe medical bills wouldn’t be the number one reason in America that people file bankruptcy.

I’m not saying there are not competent people carrying guns out there…I’m not worried about most of those guys honestly.
It’s the guy that goes to the fairground gun show with no background checks who doesn’t want to take his schizophrenia meds that we should weed out.
Common sense stuff…nothing radical or ultraliberal.

It is a small percentage of people that do these things. Prop it up any way you like: you are not going to stop anger and emotion. The people in certain areas of the world that have a hard time obtaining a gun and keeping it are stabbing multiple victims and driving cars into crowds. Anger and emotion can turn people into murderers, whether there are guns or not. Tell me: how does one make another that doesn't give a #%*# to start caring?

By the way, only a very small percentage of guns are sold without using an FFL at Fairground gun shows. The transactions you speak of are between one individual and another. That goes on in public parks with stolen guns more than this.

Did you miss that whole post of statistics I posted after I wrote that?
I would appreciate if you would post your own statistics or facts that I can check instead of just your opinion and subjective experiences with gun shows.

I disagree: my answer.
I know you said you are a hunter. It isn't meant as a slight. You tested infj, not all hunters will test as infj, some may test under brain scan as antisocial personality disorder. Even if you've met a lot of hunters and can have good banter with them, you may go home and look after your loved ones, some may go home and think about shooting people the same way as shooting animals.

"May" is as large as a reservoir. You "may" not have been raised eating wild game and fish, shrimp, and such caught daily or killed for meat. If you have no experience with this, why are you trying to dangle the lifestyle in front of everyone as what someone "may" do. It is a waste of time at most. Maybe we should arm our military with rubber bands. Give me a break.

Warped thinking...

My "opinion" is FACT based on experience. Your opinion is based on figures taken from polls and such. Experience is the better teacher.

Scarecrow, I don't like being labeled and placed into a box as you are trying to do. You guys are out of your league.

Anyone that was raising their bow or other weapon and had to stop when a ten point buck stared at them knows all about adrenalin. That is why we practice. Shooting under pressure does require practice.

Actually, you just proved how shooting and killing isn't part of our, human being's, natural response to a situation. We've learned the behavior and then become over-confident in out ability/technology, dating back to pointy sticks and rock slings. Then again, human society is pretty much contrary to every other part of nature; we're pretty much the only species that will destroy the very land they live on, like a parasite.

All b.s.

Because…?
They make up about 1% of the general population (that would include 8th graders and hunters).
They have been shown to be drawn to certain types of professions.
The link I provided lists ‘teacher' as one of the least likely professions for a psychopath.
But there are certainly other sources if you like.
And a lack of emotion/empathy would not correspond to the INFJ type.
(And the book was really good and funny)
So what’s BS?

Scarecrow, I don't like being labeled and placed into a box as you are trying to do. You guys are out of your league.

I can cite you a million other sources like this - http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...guns-and-mass-shootings-in-the-united-states/
But I doubt it will suffice for you…and that’s okay, I’m not saying we need to agree, and I’m not saying we need to take away your guns.
Has anyone here advocated for that? Did you even watch that video?
Why are you getting all agro? I’m entitled to my opinion just as you are.
If I wish to share that in a discussion I’m going to without you alluding to ignorance by saying things like “You guys are out of your league.” Which also says that you have already decided you are correct and everyone else is wrong and against you - that isn’t a discussion.
Discuss what the guy in the video said that was wrong?
Discuss the factual information I have provided and if it's wrong then please cite me a source other than your “experience”.
I have “experience” with guns too….that is what I was saying, and I still think it’s one half of the problem - guns/mental health.

I have read enough from the drama queens regarding this issue. I am perfectly calm, and quite excited, while shooting three teal on one flyby with three shots. I am thankful for the meat. I feel my instincts. They used bows, arrows, spears, and such long before I was born and it is in my blood.

I don't feel sorry for the killer. I feel sorry for the people who died and their families, but I believe the laws need to be changed so that it becomes more difficult to get weapons. Furthermore, people with mental illnesses and their families need more help provided by affordable mental health care.

As long as there is despair, inequality, racism and neglect, there will be violence. It is easy to scientifically trace your nation's level of violence to how economically unequal the citizens are. If you don't start doing more to include and lift people out of poverty, my fear is that you are only going to see more meaningless and random violence. Banning firearms is a good step, but we should not see it as a goal in it of itself. The problem is much bigger, and deserves attention. It's a shame that Kim Kardashian's vacations and Iggy Azalea's butt is more interesting than injustice and suffering.

My "opinion" is FACT based on experience. Your opinion is based on figures taken from polls and such. Experience is the better teacher.

Opinions aren't facts. It's dangerous to mix those two up.

So now I’m a drama queen because you cannot answer a single question I have posed to you?
Nice conversational skills.

(EDIT: We aren’t talking about leaves falling from trees, we are talking about bullets raining down…so your comic is unrepresentative of whatever point you were trying to make with it)
