What computer are you running?

One really cool thing you can do with old Dell Latitude 21xxs is turn them into tiny remote console units. You get relatively new 64-bit thinclient/tiny-form-factor PCs running Windows 10 or something. And you get a small 4-port or 8-port switch. The Dell Latitude 21xx's are 32-bit with the old Intel Atoms processors and 945G Intel graphics cards. The screen resolution is weird native 1240x600(I believe). But these PCs run Debian 32-bit(xfce and lxde desktops) pretty well, full MX-Linux 32-bit (w/fluxbox) extremely well, and live client OSs like Knoppix, PupplyLinux, and TinyCore Linux very well. Anyone of those OSs could run and load all your net-tools, OpenSSH, vim+C-compilier, and a graphical remote software(like TigerVNC or Remmina). So, all you need to do is set up a small point-to-point local network connection between your Dell latitude and the 64-bit thinclient (use WinPro RDP server), and connect them both to the small switch, and you have a semi-portable(and fast) 64-bit workstation all viewable and controlled by the Dell latitude 2100's screen, keyboard, and mouse pad. It's extremely cheap, very low on power, can all run on batteries if using portable battery backups, and versatile. (just a thought).
