Yep.

Had the Janssen. Arm sore for six hours.

Had the Moderna booster. Nothing.

Had the Pfizer-BioNTech. Full dose, 2 shots. Nothing.

Why the last one? Because I’m an odd duck, like to experiment, and my infectious disease specialist gave me the go-ahead.

I’ve had 9 different vaccinations in 2021. The first six I got on the same day. No problems. I would have gotten more if I could have.

You know why? Because I play a human online, but I’m actually a horse.

Cheers,
Ian

Yes, I had Moderna. I've had COPD for years, and also recently had my first grand child. Unfortunately the baby caught it from his parents anyway. My sister-in-law lost 8 family members in Brazil, one was a teen who snuck out to see a friend, caught it from her friend, and gave it to her family. She lost both parents to Covid and is having a terrible time dealing their death and blames herself for it. I believe each person has a right to make a choice, providing they keep in mind how their choice could impact others.

It's also because omicron is a less deadly mutation according to the current data. There are less deaths everywhere, not just in New York, and that has less to do with the vaccination and more to do with the virus mutating and going through its natural evolutionary processes. This was predicted by all virologists in the very beginning, and is not a surprise. Not to say that the antecedent couldn't invariably be due to both reasons, but the same thing is being reported for unvaccinated individuals, so I'm going to guess that the prior reason is far more likely. Anyway, it's good news, but was expected.

I agree.

I live in South Africa where it was first observed and that is our experience too. We are past our wave on Omicron with very little hospitalizations and deaths. My son just had it. Almost like a cold - just body aches and a lingering cough. No loss of taste or smell. He did not take the vaccine.

There is a silver lining.

Just a personal anecdote, but my whole family is vaccinated and the adults have boosters. A few weeks ago I had a friend and her son over for a family gathering. The friend is vaccinated but not boosted. The son is not vaccinated. We found out about a day later that my friend's husband had covid (vaccinated and he had cold like symptoms and did fine). We were all thinking we were going to get it especially after finding out that my friend's son and baby were positive a few day after that (both doing ok) my friend never tested positive. My family never tested positive. We're all good. My mom has a compromised immune system and thankfully didn't get sick. If she hadn't just had her booster I wonder if it would have been different. I think that's the closest brush we've had. But I would credit the vaccines to the majority of us not getting covid. Especially considering my son and his friend were playing closely together.

My brother died of Covid on Saturday. Because of his political & religious ideology he was treating Covid as something that had been blown out of proportion and he refused to be vaccinated or take extra precautions. He also never sought medical treatment after he became ill and died at home. His wife who is also sick and not vaccinated had to be flown by helicopter to the nearest hospital that could take her. She was stabilized and has been released into the care of my other brother and his wife whose vaccinations will now be put to the test.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Yes, I'm vaccinated. I got the Moderna vaccination, and I recently scheduled for a booster along with my annual flu shot. Yeah, you don't want to mess around with major worldwide pandemics.

Also, it's merely another part of the New World Order. Everyone vaccinated gets a barcode and scanned. If you want to work, travel, and do business in the Brave New World, then you're going to have get a shot, tagged, and scanned. Sorry, for those who disagree[and I understand a lot of the controversy], but imo, that's just the way it is.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. That's so difficult. I hope your sister-in-law will continue to recover, and y'all are given peace during this time.

Given the infection and hospitalization rates in double/triple jabbed groups, the title of this thread makes one ponder.

"You are 17 times more likely to go to the hospital if you’re not vaccinated, 20 times more likely to die. And those are significant, serious statistics. So, yes, the impact for people who are unvaccinated is far more dire than those who are vaccinated."
J Psaki, Biden's Press Sec.

On COVID-19 hospitalizations, CDC data from the end of November 2021 indicated that unvaccinated adults ages 18 years and older were hospitalized with COVID-19 at a rate of about 67.8 per 100,000. By comparison, the rate for fully vaccinated individuals was about 3.9 per 100,000, meaning unvaccinated people were about 17 times more likely to be hospitalized due to COVID-19.

Data from Texas also supports Psaki’s claims. According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, data from September indicated that "Texans not vaccinated against COVID-19 were about 20 times more likely to suffer a COVID-19-associated death and 13 times more likely to test positive than people who were fully vaccinated."

of course the CDC could be lying as could the austin statesman and Jenn Psaki, and me for that matter. The kids in the 6th grade class I subbed for last week told me one of the absentees had been sick in the hospital with covid for 3 weeks, they could be misinformed or even lying.
