Jeff Bezos is stepping down as CEO of Amazon to focus on colonizing space like an interstellar conquistador. I'm happy for him, he did the work to get to where he is today.

It makes you wonder though, is he gonna be happy not selling things to us? What's going to happen to Amazon without Jeff Bezos directly involved? I don't know.

It's bittersweet that he's leaving us like this though. He's definitely not that same old Jeff that we came to love. He's one of the richest men in the world now. Still, this split is probably better for all of us. In a weird way I am going to miss Jeff.

Let's talk about Jeff Bezos, Amazon too, but especially Jeff Bezos.

Post all of the Bezos gifs, news articles, whatever you can think of
I want a giant efigy constructed in the form of this morally dubious corporate overload. Let's go!

Have you seen this yet @Pin. This episode in space was absolutely hilarious. It was just silly!! Scroll to the part where Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk and Richard Branson are in space

When I see him, I just see the geeky guy who was trying to make selling books online a thing, when I was growing up.

That said, he probably needs to focus more on the great reset now, so happy retirement Jeff!

I don't think that someone like him can simply retire. He's definitely going to be pulling strings with his wealth. He has a lot of power.

I wonder what an actual Bezo turd would fetch on the open market.
Own you very own piece of shit from Jeff!!
“I’m not rich but I do own a Jeff Bezo Turd, wanna see it?”

He will have the same power he needs, but without being responsible for shit. So when the government one day pretends that Amazon is getting out of control, Jeff Bezos doesn't have to have his day ruined by entertaining a panel of clowns like Mark Zuckerberg had to.

Exactly, billionaires don't bribe members of Congress so they can get yelled at, lmao.

Don’t tell me you’ve bought into the American myth of work ethic leading to merit-based success.

The hardest part of any business is getting it started and off the ground. To that end, Jeff’s parents gave him $300,000 USD to start Amazon.

Saying he did the work without mentioning his privilege is tantamount to becoming a propaganda perpetrator.

Georgetown Study: Wealth, Not Ability, The Biggest Predictor Of Future Success

It’s kind of like saying Elon Musk worked hard to achieve the success he has.

You know, I bet I’d do pretty damned well too in life if my parents owned half of an emerald mine and operated a mining company...in Zambia.

All other things being equal, in the United States, where you start is the biggest predictor of how far you’ll go. Not effort, not ability, not what you know, or who you know.

There’s no inherent virtue in working hard. That’s a propaganda piece from the wealthy centuries ago intended to increase labor output, increase their wealth extraction, and maintain the status quo in the war of the wealthy on the poor.

Cheers,
Ian
