So I’ve been very confused for a long time about my type. Been constantly questioning it and thinking I could be something else but just ending up concluding that I’m INFJ. The kicker is, I look at all the INFJ stuff online and I just honestly think, ‘wtf? I’m supposed to be the same type as all these hippies?’. I just sat where I was scratching my head as to how I’m any where similar to you guys (That happen to meet that descriptor).

Turns out, I’m INFJ 6w5. I used to score INTJ quite a few times on some random tests before and yeah, I could somewhat relate to them, but looking at things as how they are instead of what I prefer, I’m doubtlessly INFJ 6w5. For a long time I didn’t wanna be, simply cause INFJ wasn’t the ‘cool’ type like INTJ, but I recognise I got some pretty cool skills from almost both sides of the coin.

For one, I’m more cerebral. I tend to pursue things that are more grounded in the facts while also striving for spiritual and virtuous fulfilment. I love order and structure (could be more of an ISTJ thing) while also liking to prepare for worst case scenarios. Honestly, I don’t know if it’s a 6w5 thing, but I can quite easily dehumanise someone just to make standing up to them much easier. I’ve learned to detach quite effectively from people’s opinions. And I’m generally more traditional than most INFJs I’ve seen on here (want a beautiful family, raise a strong son, never covet another woman, etc.).

Downsides of course are that I’m very anxious of what could happen. I tend to see everyone as a potential enemy unless I can charm them into friendship. If they do something remotely out of line, it’s incredibly difficult for me to trust them again. I’m also usually up at night worrying about the little things I neglected throughout the day.

Anyway, can any of you else share if there are obvious strengths, weaknesses, differences, etc. with the INFJ 6w5? Preferably from similarly typed INFJs.

Also, I hear Aragorn and Obi Wan Kenobi are INFJ 6w5s and they tend to stray from the norm.

You sound like the posterboy white knight infj

No kiddin? How did you determine that? What the hell is that anyway?

Isn’t the whole white knight thing an INTJ/ENFJ thing? Cause no kiddin I sure as hell feel like them sometimes.

It's an everyone thing. It manifests differently for people. For INFJs it's well intended/misguided use of Fe while navigating social situations, generally

You would have to show more of how you think for people in this forum to seriously type you. I have to say, based on the thread about your friend and your interactions in the forum so far, there's an intensity about you that doesn't strike me as INFJ. The eneagram 6w5 could be a reason for it.

How have I been misguided in my use of Fe? Because I act like an EXTP on this forum? Fair call if so.

I'm not accusing you of anything directly, I was just making a vague observation/prediction based on what you've said about yourself and your vibe here.
As @mintoots said, I need more data before making any solid conclusions.
My original comment was kind of a joke, your avatar is literally a white knight. But you do embody those kinds of tenants, it would seem.

Yeah, I'm bloody confused cause I act so boisterous and "macho" sometimes. Could it be that I have a higher testosterone level than most people? It's not like I'm acting or anything, I'm just letting my fingers land on the keys.

I am on the Carnivore Diet anyway, so it's most likely that. We'll see in due time :grinning:

See? Even I can miss jokes, lmao. Well, you'll be seeing me, partner.

Lol, I'm going to type you as 'An Absolute Cunt' :tearsofjoy:

Honestly, you don't come across like an NF at all.

Edit: Not that we know you well enough to make a proper judgment anyway. For that reason I can't say much more than that.

Doing ding ding!

ENTP is my guess for you.

Why on Earth do you think you're INFJ?
Shieeet, guess I have to rethink of my degree plan. Guess I'll quit Uni and pursue a career in stand-up comedy.

Honestly, you don't come across like an NF at all.

Weird world, ay? I honestly don't act this way around most people. I tend to be like this when I'm feeling comfortable in a social setting where this kind of behaviour is somewhat more acceptable.

I think it's the case for everyone that they're more outgoing when they feel comfortable.

But how did you determine that this behavior would be socially acceptable? And how so fast?
(I'm not saying it isn't socially acceptable. I'm also not saying it is. I'm merely wondering about your thought process here.)

Describe how you act 'normally'.
Depends on who I'm talking to, lol. I'm a bit of a chicken-neck at work because I'm so anxious all the time there. Flatmates, I'm quite approachable, always saying hi and conversing with them whenever, talk to them about current events, sometimes just bring a random question that pertains to an idea I have. When ordering a cuppa, always say please and thank you, usually smiles. By myself, I'm constantly ranting and coming up with ideas for diet, self improvement, how to market my ideas, etc.

I guess it's the vibe. I came here, I saw a fursona with a massive bulge, plenty of banter. I can really thrive in that kind of environment if I feel secure.
