Brotherhood

Heard a sermon the other day about brotherhood. I remember the Tower of Babel centuries ago, and know we should love our fellow people as we love ourselves. People can be called bands, groups, clubs, organizations, and they are usually somewhat like-minded.

Race was brought up, which I did not care for. People that want to be treated the same should be called the same people. I long for the day when a black man can be called a man. I long for the day a white man can be called a man.

A folded hand with fingers intertwined was used as an example of a brotherhood of men.

It is written: There is no difference between a Jew and a Greek. I think the world has a looooooong way to go to call ourselves a brotherhood. What are your thoughts? Anyone?

Self defense...I would hate to kill a lion, as they are awesome beasts. However, if I had a rifle...I would not run.

A brotherhood of mankind(yes, and women) with special groups? I learned about hate and racism, and am not blind to it. Would a brotherhood of mankind walk past a starving white man while helping blacks? I think not. Yet, here we are with black and white all over again.There are huge differences among, or inside, each race, where there are the poor and the rich. What is wrong with "helping a man"? I think as long as we try to differentiate between blacks and whites, there will be racial problems that lead right to political parties and who people vote for. "I'm voting for who helps me the most" instead of "I'm voting for who can help solve our differences and our problems."

Tearing down civil war statues of our past is another point I will bring up. They do not stand for hatred, but those tearing them down show hatred. Those allowing it? I cannot understand. All of our ancestors went through the great depression, and I see race as a red flag towards another. The government cannot afford to keep spending the money they spend to placate a race. Our leaders are not helping, looking at their salaries. MBA businesses get first shot at government jobs, while other companies are laying people off and closing locations. There are widespread difficulties that need mending. Close a business, and put people out of work. People, mind you. People, not blacks and whites. It is a mentality that would help to band our people more together.

I praise God for his resolute ways. The problem, it seems, is we cannot see ourselves as God sees us. He does not treat people as being different. Yet, He healed the sick. He made the blind to see. He raised the dead. He fed the multitudes with little to nothing. I want to see humankind as He does.
