Do you think President Obama is also an INFJ? Or ?

He actually is very much so a J, exact examples? Eh not really. But when he's giving speeches without his teleprompter it comes to life. I am more comfortable saying he is a J by the obvious dominant Fe, then by "typical" J things. After all, every raisin under the son was convinced I was a P, but really I'm a J with lots of ADHD. Things like the Dream Act I believe put an emphasis on te Fe aspect -- however I guess we all have to be careful when trying to dissect a politician's personality because the whole point of being a polititian is you become exactly what we want.

edit: I love how all the liberals are saying Obama is this ENTP/ENTJ (read: intellectual and a good leader) whereas I call bullshit and the ENFJ is so obvious. I guess its obvious to me because I can just 'sense' an ENFJ when I see one. I mean, I'm not like "omg enfj on their foreheads" but something is different about them and as I ponder I come to that conclusion. What I think would be interesting is an ENTP to say why they think Obama is an ENTP and any similarities between them.

I love how you assume that anyone that guessed he was an ENTP/ENTJ would be a liberal (read: ENTP is a GOOD thing Obama is super awesome intellectual and good leader) This article was written by a liberal who is doing her best to project her own good, human, perspective onto Obama's confusing, strange (anti-social) behavior and I believe those saying he is an introvert feeler that's just misunderstood and refusing to see his anti-social, selfish, destructive actions for what they are...they are just giving him the benefit. I'm taking his entire life into mind here though, not just the article. In my opinion he is not an F. No way in hell. I think you might be projecting a bit yourself. I don't know though.

True, an F can never be these things. T's however are the absolute worst and destroy everything and have the worst of qualities.

Lol, OMG I was gonna add but you caught it first...I'm an F and I happen to like myself a little bit. So, of course anyone "bad" is a T. *wink* lololololol

You're actually trying to type a Lawyer/Politician? You'd have better luck typing the ant colony I have living in my backyard.

I can see why you're saying I might be projecting, perhaps I might get a bit of that same feeling myself re: myself. However I still am unwavering in my belief.
Lerxst ikr I said the same thing a few posts down I think... I'm pretty sure I did. Typing a politician is pointless, thus why I don't want to get too invested in this topic :p

All politics for or against him aside, I was reading this Op-Ed piece by Maureen Dowd, and it got me thinking.
Clearly he is an introvert to some extent. The part about him having to decompress and recharge after being at even a small event hit home, and in not being as openly reciprocal (unintentionally) to those that reach out also struck a cord.

How would you type the President?

As for myself, over the years when I watch him speak he never really connects with me on any level.
He just comes across as telling the audience what he thinks they want to hear. Very flat. I guess if someone is of a similar type, I would think there would be some kind of connection there.

Edit:
After giving it some thought, I think if he were an INFJ or similar, he wouldn't have seeked out such a high profile public career.

Obama is a very typical ISFJ, the Se subtype.
He has that leader charisma about him, that ISFJs have.
Its the force of Fi in him Se-ed.

I believe him to be a psychopath and thereby MBTI doesn't apply as it only applies to healthy people

Maybe he is an INFJ, maybe he's not, but I'm in no position to really make any insights while his political career is still active. It's not just how he has to filter what he says, but it must also seep into what he writes.
Basically, anything that he says, writes, or does is going to be influenced by the fact that if it is too controversial or too unpopular, it could irreparably harm his political career. Years from now, after his term in office is over, and his stake in politics is negligible, and he speaks and writes candidly, we could get a more accurate read.
Until then, I can't trust anything that he says to be truly what he thinks, as with any politician or public representative.

What makes you think Obama is ENTP?
1) He's such a fucking nerd.
2) ENTPs are extraverted feelers.

3) These quotes...

  • ENTP
    obama.jpg

    Barack Obama
U.S. President (D), married to Michelle Obama

Obama: "[In my Nobel Peace Prize speech] I wanted to make an argument that didn't allow either side to feel too comfortable."
  • Obama: "[As an adolescent I was] arguing all the time, usually about me failing to abide by ... petty and arbitrary rules. I found that I could generally win these arguments.
  • "Obama: "There are some things about being president that I still have difficulty doing. For example, faking emotion. Because I feel it is an insult to the people I'm dealing with.
  • "Obama: "My wife makes fun of how routinized I've become. It's not my natural state. ... But at some point in my life I overcompensated."
  • Joe Biden: "[Obama] is an intellectual. ... He's not a moralizer."
