Solar Eclipse Watch

Oh, so you being a dick is your way of being funny? I get it
I'm offended by @Eventhorizon's harsh words to an INTP. How dare he. :imp: Everyone knows INTJ's are duck faces anyway.

Mmm hmm...

One of the coolest things I've witnessed! Here in Nashville we got about a full minute of complete darkness. Street lights came on and it literally felt like 10pm at night though it was 1:28 CST. Photos don't do it justice but I tried.

Last total eclipse viewable in Britain was 1999. I thought it was amazing. The birds going quiet, the totality and then as the moon passed across, and the birds began like a dawn chorus. I remember it actually felt chilly for a little while.

Thank you @Gale this was a brilliant thread. *Big props

Is that what the kids are saying ? This is the part where my son's would laugh at me and grimace. I don't even care ;)

Same here milky. Oh well. :) I watched all the nasa stuff and the broadcast from the international space station. We had a superb partial eclipse in 2015 here.

I'm glad for everyone who got to see it. Words don't do it justice. A friend at work once said to me, just check out the night sky with basic binoculars. The stars kinda jump out of the sky (provided there's not too much light pollution).

I hear that in the southern hemisphere it's incredible. Maybe @Eternal or @wolly.green know more.

While everybody is watching the eclipse,

I'll be watching the total eclipse of my heart!

Yeah, I went there!

As much as I love this song, people were requesting it on the radio at work wayyyyy too much last night :p

I went out and tried to get some pics but they all suck. I just stood with my back to it and tried to get a shot with my phone using the selfie view with the camera. I didn't get any neato eclipse glasses because there was not a pair to be found near me.

I was outside a bit. It was a little eerie. It seemed like the light and shadows were off but nothing too dramatic. That is my report.

I was afraid I was going to do something Homer Simpson-ish and look directly at it and burn my retinas because I've just been hearing so much that I shouldn't do that. I'm happy to report I was not an idiot today.

I'm from New Zealand. I don't think we see the eclipse here!

Sorry, I didn't mean this eclipse. I meant the amount of stars visible in the night sky. I hear it's 2 or more times than its possible to see in the northern hemisphere.

Oh right. Yeah for sure. You can see a lot, especially at places like The Bombay Hills. I'm not sure how much better it is though :confused1:
