Haha, don't worry about it! :D

And man, of course you don't want to learn martial arts because of a simple movie - you want to learn one because it's awesome. I know that.
I didn't think of anything particular though.
Have you ever heard of Jeet Kune Do? I mainly stopped with martial arts out of motivation. :x

I would want a lot of responsibility in my job, if I'm awesome at it. Which I don't know yet. :p
And I really should study more - I have an exam tomorrow, and I don't know at all how that's going to end up.
I've played tons of shooters and a few RPG's over the years, but I don't play any atm. Do you?

You seem to do the same thing I do when I'm talking to someone - constantly discussing that what you say with yourself.
Would you call yourself insecure? :O I think I used to be quite a bit, but I've grown emotionally and mentally over the years.

They call adolescence a period of 'storm and stress'. How do you identify with that?
    T
You know, everyone is a bit insecure when they try such things out for the first time. But from what I've learned, the guy who has 10 years practice behind his belt will still say that he needs to improve this and that.
My attitude towards it is that I ask a lot of questions; some people appreciate it, some don't.
Yeah, I've heard about Wing Chun before. It seems quite interesting, I've never seen it in practice :)

Well, sometimes the questions I ask don't really reflect my own opinion, I should tell you that. :p
Hm. I've always come here for friends, but most of them haven't been here for a year. I just like to chat from now and then.
Tsssssk, pissing away your work time on fora! You should be ashamed of yourself mister! (Just kidding, of course.)

Yeah, the registration fee is always 550, except if you get a scholarship.

And I believe that in some cases theoretical knowledge is quite important. You can't test every situation on a doctor, you must expect that he/she has learned some theory five years ago, which he/she has never encountered before because it's rare, but is still able to identify the situation.

I would also like to pick up a martial art again, to be honest :)
    T
No, I wouldn't say you should work out before starting martial arts. Why?
Martial arts don't rely on strength by itself; they teach you how to apply certain techniques.
Of course, strength is an important factor, but I'd never let it stand in my way to try something.
    1. You will gain strength when practicing the martial art.
    2. You can combine it with strength exercises at home.

Also, you should know that it depends a bit on the martial art itself: in aikido strength is waaaaay less important than in kickboxing.
I think that your natural state will probably be sufficient to start. I've never prepared myself to take up a martial art, anyway; :p

Studying physics seems quite hardcore. Would you want to do something with it professionally?

Yeah, threads like those aren't really that popular. People around here care more about discussing what they're going to eat tonight,
than having a meaningful debate. Which is quite odd, because when I first arrived here, there were quite a few debates going on.

Belgium is alright, even though its regulations are a bit too strict imo. (You may have noticed that I am kind of liberal. :p)
But you know, the education is excellent and cheap (costs 550 euro a year to register at a university, and mine is in the top 50 of uni's worldwide), so I'm really happy for that.
Education is important on macro-level, because it builds the foundation of the next generation.

Then again, I am kind of against the whole 'we must all get a degree'-trend, because I don't feel it really represents your abilities as an employee.
I mean, does it matter if the person you're hiring to be a manager, bank employee, ... does not have a corresponding degree, but has the necessary skills?
I don't think so, but I often see vacancies where they request that the applicant holds a degree.
To be honest, I only see the use of it for a few professions: doctors, pilots, ...

I'm listening to the Meshuggah song - and I like it. What an awesome riff. :D

Aikido is quite nice, but I found it very hard. The moves were quite complex. (I liked that though :p)
Ibanez guitars are like that skinny introverted blonde chick in class; she doesn't draw too much attention to herself, but she's hot and awesome.
    Now, where was I..
Oh yeah, 'Musicstore' is a huuuuuge store in Cologne, it's impressive. I've only ordered from them online, but damn. Their prices are okay.

The link between that guitar forum and MBTI was coincidental, there was a thread about those tests, I took it and I tested INFJ. :p

I find science interesting, but I haven't taken the time to delve in the subjects.
I have bought an introduction book to physics like a year ago that I really should read..
    What about you? :)

Also, thanks for inviting me to that thread! I'll reply to it.
    T
I did aikido for a few months, which was alright actually :)

Ibanez guitars are awesome. I love their light weight and slim necks :3
If I were ever to buy a new guitar, which is not going to happen, it'd be an Ibanez.
Have you ever been to the German store 'musicstore'? It's a huge store in Cologne, but I sadly have not had the pleasure yet of visiting it.
(I also got to know this forum via a guitar website (UG, if you happen to know it).)

You're right when it comes to checking the vibe; I don't get it why the stereotype seems to be that us NT's are socially defunct. :p

I've read that INTPf post before, but I don't visit their forum anymore.
You don't live up to the image I have of the stereotypical 'forum-lurking-INTP', who's trying to prove himself to others.
A lot of people seem to think once they read their result that it defines who they are, but you don't seem to express yourself in such a way. Which is good.
    T
Well, my first test result was INFJ :p I've also gotten INTJ, INTP, ENTP, ENFP, ENTJ, INFP, ... so the only thing I can assume is that I'm a borderline case when it comes to all these things; or that I suck at making those tests.

Yeah, I'd love to do some martial arts, and have done one in the past for a few months. But yeah, the motivation is lacking. :p
My work out is very, very basic though.. Mainly pushups, sit-ups and exercises with my dumbells. I do it because it increases my concentration.

Haha, I don't like to talk about things I'm not interested in either; I suck at smalltalk. I often shift the conversation to topics I prefer.
Sometimes, when I do it too quick, and the topic gets a bit philosophical, the other person might assume I'm strange. But that's a risk I take, I guess.
I can joke around a lot though, and I'm able to have shallow conversations. But once I care about something, I tend to get serious and start discussing it rationally.

A couple of days ago, I was approached by a lady who was a bit older than me, and she asked me 'Can I express criticism?'
I said: 'Sure, go ahead.' and we had a conversation that lasted an hour. If people can get away with that, I should be able to get away with changing the subject of the conversation. :p

I'm not really a master at introducing myself, and when I'm new in a group (that would be me not knowing anyone) I tend to observe first, then speak.
These days I listen to Ministry, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Johnny Cash, ...
Quite diverse, I must admit :p
    What do you listen to?
Also, what kind of guitar/amp do you have?

I've often tested as an INTP, so that might be why we basically have the same routine. :p
    T
Even though I prefer clean vocals most of the time, I enjoyed it :)
What instrument do you play? I played guitar for a while, but I lacked in motivation when it came to practicing it.
When it comes to hobbies, I'm not quite exciting, since most of the time I just read books / watch series / listen to music / work out / go out with my friends.
So I don't really have any hobbies, although I will take up parachute jumping (static line) next year!

Yeah, I'm not bad at remembering information, finding connections, ... but I often lack motivation.
Hm, I don't have a hard time making friends, but I don't call most people I know friends.
Being new in a group is sometimes hard for me too, but it always turns out to be alright, so I guess I should not worry about that. :)

Law is a bit dry, but because I'm doing criminology at the moment, I found that I also find it interesting (esp. criminal law).

What brought you to these parts of the internet? :p
    T
As a salesman? Sounds like a frightening job to me. :x
Even though I don't consider myself really introverted either (I'm XNTX)

Heh, it's true that wisdom comes with the years. I'm still in uni at the moment (I'm probably going to start my masters next year), and I'm probably going to do law after my current major.
It depends wether I can get a decent job (content-wise) with my current degree.
I don't like studying for exams (my grades aren't really good), but I like sitting in class and getting to know new people.

I read somewhere that you play in a metal band; care to link me? I like all kinds of metal. :)
    T
Ich komme aus Belgien; meine Muttersprache is Niederländisch (und ich spreche auch ein bisschen Französisch und Englisch natürlich).

So, we're practically neighbours! :D What languages do you speak?
(Also, I should add that I've only had one year of German so far.. But I'm going to keep learning it over the next few years!)

What do you do in real life?
    T
Or we could not have expectations of eachother and surprise eachother every time!

Wir können auch ein bisschen Deutsch sprechen, aber ich lerne es noch.

When you're my friend, you get to post crazy theories on my visitor wall all the time.
